The global equity index for renewable energies RENIXX World on Thursday with losses of 1.14 percent (-6.43 Points) at 556.58 points marked a new Year Low. Lower the index had last closed in March 2009. Early in the morning was the regenerative stock market barometer back below 560 points and extend those losses later in the day.

Weakest RENIXX value in the share of the Norwegian solar group REC with a loss rate of 8.3 percent to 2.53 euros. The company had submitted its financial results for the third quarter of 2010. Sales increased over the same period by 80 per cent increase to 3.78 billion Norwegian crowns (about € 460 million), but was the EPS -0.90 Norwegian crowns (Q3 2009: -0.32). While SolarWorld is unchanged classified as "overweight", it stays for Q-Cells in the vote "under weight". As part of an industry study on the solar sector is going at HSBC believe that the solar demand in the current year is likely more than double and this should be evident in the quarterly reports of both companies. However, it could come next year to a decline in demand of 15 percent, experts say. Further gains presented themselves yesterday for China wind power (+2.8 percent, 0.07 €), Motech (+2.6 per cent, 2.80 €) and Yingli (+2.4 percent, 8.66 euros).

The weather is getting colder and it is clearly Islay Time ;-) Fortunately, now my newest Single Malt arrived:
Having in recent months with the Islay bottlings rather " young guns have preferred, I thought, here we go again at the time also a "take mature guys" (ie, a malt things labeled in red).

Caol Ila 27 years (ex Sherry Butt)

1983-2010 51,4% vol.

Nose: a round "Sherry peat Note" - bacon in honey, peat smoke smoked

Taste: salt, bacon and honey crust in peat smoke and a touch of oak

finish: the beginning find the oak on the palate, but slowly softened the sweet sherry and then the last long

... so perfect for a gray autumn afternoon - for the snow disaster, we will still have the Laphroaig eight years; -)

New Islay bottlings at The Whisky Chamber

in time were able to autumn / winter 2010, I worried for my Whisky Chamber assortment new Islay whiskeys, two of which are already tried at the Whisky Tasting Fair in Rüsselsheim and soon have many friends:

Laproaig eight years

2001-2010 56,9% vol.

nose peat and smoke, ruins, sweet and slightly fruity taste in the background
: a mixture of peat and a strong sweet fruit
finish: He stops for a long time and has
the end, only some very small wood notes (becoming slightly dry)

Caol Ila 14 years

1996-2010 58.4% vol. (Refill sherry cask)

nose Peat and salt, ripe fruit and a light sherry sweetness and vanilla flavor
: be the beginning of typical salt and peat and then an herbal note - Sherry also found in light approaches
finish: very long, dry, spicy and warming

A third, very special, I will try to Islay Aqua Vitae in Essen - more is not yet betrayed ...

Then I am currently still looking for a tasty Speyside Whisky, so that is something new for the "no-peat" this group.

But with these fine whiskeys smoke, the cold season to come for sure!

Scotch Malt Whisky Society in London - my rescue!

The Tube strike, the weather is not Dolle, you will not your colds going on - what do you do in London?

Man goes to the Scotch Malt Whisky Society - and Malt is due, there is not only in Edinburgh ;-)

Fast heart in the center (from the comfort of Piccadilly in 30 minutes walking distance), are the club rooms of the SMWS - although they do not make it a last on the meters easy: the entrance to the Society's something hidden in the back alley around the corner from " Bleeding Heart ".

you opened from 8.00 Clock: with really good coffee and breakfast! The first malt will be served from 10.00 ...

Jonathan had greeted me warmly at 11:00 and after an extensive whiskey fun he could convince me a little, but with the number 97.20, a fruity malty Littlemill to start the day.

The club room and the bar are more modern, but is comfortable and for the small and large appetites served from the restaurant downstairs.
I had for lunch one (hausgemachten!) lamb burger - something I had not tried before and can recommend it. After that a real espresso on the house and a small Port Charlotte and the afternoon began.

am On my next visit to London I will definitely stop by again in the club rooms of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
