I was always of the opinion that this is not a contradiction - and now there is also a study that shows that ;-)

on the whiskey trade fairs in Germany you can also follow very well that whiskey is absolutely no "men's domain" (longer). In my tastings I have not noticed, however, because women are unfortunately still the exception - or the driver (in).
